Liliana Porter is a master of quiet and simplicity. Her touching photographs echo the memory of childhood and the nostalgia, which those memories evoke.

Artist Statement

Liliana Porter is a New York based Latin American artist who works in wide variety of contemporary mediums. She uses found materials, collected since the 1960s, to construct sensitive landscapes that echo the writings of Jorge Luis Borge, of time, repetition, labyrinths and the problem of representations.

Her work has been shown nationally and internationally and is represented in many public and private collections, among them TATE Modern Collection, London, UK; Museum of Modern Art, New York; Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; Philadelphia Museum of Art; The New York Public Library; Museo del Barrio, New York; Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York and the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Washington DC.
