Artist Statement
Teresa Gomez Martorell was born in Barcelona, Spain 1961. She received a BFA from the University of Barcelona and an MFA in Printmaking from Southern Methodist University. In the tradition of surrealist print makers such as Max Klinger, Gomez focuses on the notion of hybrids anthropomorphizing subjects of nature, drawing the viewer into her beautiful and quizzical imagery. Her work has been featured in various solo and group exhibitions in the U.S., Spain, Argentina, Denmark, and Belgium.
